Poorly Maintained Building

10.30pm (Tuesday) – In a bizarre twist, the commonly used Maybank of Taman Sea (near Shell station) got fused with
flames causing electronic devices and important documents destroyed with a blink of an eye.

Fortunately,
no one was hurt and the surrounding buildings were not affected by the fire.

As for now,
the fire department are still in a midst of conducting the investigation and "it is too early to make judgments on the incident". But due to certain
circumstances, it was safe to assume that the fire was accidental and not arson
in any manner.

Loses are
still being accounted for while the total amount are yet to be confirmed and there were no mentions of insurance coverage in the event.

Till then,
Have fun
(so you better be smart now, maybank ss2 is gonna be packed)

Taylor’s Orientation Party (2008)

August 1st, 2008 by crabby88

1st August - Fun
re-defined at Taylor’s orientation dinner, where lecturers, seniors and
enthusiast showed their appreciation to the newly enrolled students of July
2008 in-take. Putting aside all differences, everyone got to interact with one
another before they begin the new chapter of their college life.

While college
freshman are chewing chicken wings, the organizers a.k.a. student council
prepares the stage for the upcoming performances. Among the common food that is served are
fried rice and marinated chicken. It’s not the best food around but it got
everyone going for the next phase of the orientation program.

The event
starts off with acoustic performances by hospitality students along with a mind
blowing emcee that managed to draw the crowd’s attention and made everyone feel
at home. The students were very supportive of their school’s talents and gave
the best clap that a musician could possibly get.

P8011783edit_4
Just as the
music died down, the emcee hails a few couples and made them dance in front of
the crowd, hence giving them the opportunity to win some prizes as they fight
for the students’ attention. The deejay stirs up the participants with popular
RnB music, as well as hip Indian dance music that are commonly found in local
clubs.

The music
scene continues with gangster rap and contemporary rap from seniors, as it
served as a remedy to the people who were about to leave.

Just as
everything came to an end, the dance floor re-opened as promised and everyone
was delighted to show off their moves without second thoughts.

Everyone got what
they expected for and left the campus without regrets. Fun was all they had to
bring home with them.

I wonder what
awaits me in Taylor’s college, after all, I’m who I am and nothing is going to
stop me.

Till then,
Eat sushi.

Update 101

July 28th, 2008 by crabby88

Just by
glancing through my last post, you know nothing has been changed recently besides
the politically crisis we see on news.

Due to the
lack of motivation, my thoughts came to a standstill, refusing to do anything
new. I barely moved forward this month, instead I backtracked my lifestyle to a
character that I was once so eager to change.

But, I was moved
by how stale my blog has become and decided to make a stand before it dispose
itself and self-destruct to an intensity of incompetent dullness.

I’ve nothing
spectacular on my mind right now, just having flashbacks on how I managed to finish an 1800 words assignment with notepad.

I guess this
should end here before it gets out of hand. All I can say now is happy holidays
and remember to give me a ‘hola’ if you’re studying in Taylor’s College, Bali <- did i spell that correctly?

As for now,
Pretend you’ve never read this post!
THE JOKE IS ON YOU!

Hale to Petrol Increase

June 5th, 2008 by crabby88

SS4, Petronas – After flipping through the daily headlines, it couldn’t be more reassuring that parents would provide less for their children, especially fuel. They would gradually ask us to take the bus, knowing how much we hate public transportation.

Well, everyone kept their hopes high praying that the information was inaccurate. But, the honking and pollution outside is enough to convince anyone that the country is facing a crisis. Among those that are affected are Proton and Perodua cars (including me), the rich couldn’t care less. Curious and boring me, I took my little ride for a stroll and saw what I needed to see. Believe it or not, I had so much fun.

For what’s worth, I got my full tank for 1.92 cent per litre and I realise how extreme the situation became. For some reason, I caught some people refilling their petrol tank at RM 30! Someone please shoot them down.

Omg, they queued up for a few bucks of petrol. Can you beat that! Malaysia Boleh! Hilarious I would say.

Photo_0002

*30 minutes before I got my fuel*

After glancing the quiet road and enjoying the after rain breeze, I knew I was a genius. So I took my time, drive around and right after the next turn, I saw a train of backlights. *Devastated* sigh. I queued up like how my mom would expect her boy to do and waited for my turn. I took out a CD that I’ve just burned and enjoyed the music, while my headlights are shut and the air con is on full blast. Never would I expect the petrol hike to reach an extent far worse than the New Year’s celebration jam.

But as soon as my conscience kicks in, I decide to improvise and move to the opposite lane, (I drove on the opposite direction) and march my way around and got to the first few, like how Jackie Chan would do it.

When my turn came, it was a great feeling, knowing how other people suffered in the queue while I cut them with a snap. I pulled the hand break, got out and advance to the cute person sitting in front of the casher and took out my wallet. I overlook myself at the reflection of the credit card (*damn! I look good) and proudly announce “full tank” to the lady. She smile at me and said, sorry no credit card allowed. AHH! My hands were trembling and what worse could I have no cash in my wallet, but in the end I did. So quickly, after wiping a few drops of cold sweat, I hand over the cash. GUESS WHAT? She told me it was passed 12 and they needed to change the system! Oh my god, I was terrified.

I waited and waited…… Out of sudden, a man (sounds like a family man) complains emotionally and demand for the old price. The manager could hardly speak and gave the last few cars (me in it) the normal rate and I congratulated him - Well Done!

Without further ado, I quickly get my fuel. But there were idiots who request for a join pump, offering me RM30. But too bad, I wasn’t sure how much I needed so I declined him.

Little did I expect this to happen, let’s hope this incident doesn’t occur again, well one day is not going to change anything.

Rage Self-Defence Party

May 6th, 2008 by crabby88

Hi People!!!

We are organising a self defence workshop this Sat 10 May at the Summit in Subang Jaya from 8.30am - 12.30pm. The workshop fee is RM10, inclusive of lunch.

We have been incorporating self defence sessions into the BRATs workshops, but not all of you have had the chance to learn the moves as we just started doing it late last year.

It’s a dangerous place out there, and we just want you all to have some skills to protect yourselves so that you’d not be totally helpless. You don’t have to know martial arts, or be particularly fit. You might not be able to remember how to throw down your attacker or get him down to his knees with a flick of your wrist - yes, you’ll learn all of that. But there are still many nifty tricks you can learn and remember easily such as how to free yourself from a grip (it’s easy, even I can do it), or how to free yourself if someone grabs you from behind. Or what to do if someone grabs your handbag, or how to fall safely.

It’s all a matter of learning a trick or two. It’s good to have these knowledge stored somewhere in your brains so that you’ll have something to fall back on when yourself protective instincts kicked in shd you ever find yourself in precarious situations. It’s only a few hours on a Sat morning, but it could save your life… who knows.

hmmmmm

April 17th, 2008 by crabby88

I’ve been really busy lately, ever since I work. It never occurred to me that I would abandon my blog until now. I had the free time but I would rather do something worthwhile with friends than to blog at home. Unless I have a brilliant story to share with whomever that is reading this or events that I’ve attended to, then I’ll consider spending some time in front of my laptop to write a story or a point of view.

The working environment is fairly new to me and I’m still struggling to cope with whatever that I’m expected to cope with. Hence, brings me back to my previous lifestyle where things are so simple, maybe too simple. Even though there are tough moments, I do enjoy what I’m doing. Because of this opportunity, I get to meet and socialize with different kinds of people, hence knowing girls from other college and university.

Actually working is not very tough or hectic to begin with; at least it is somehow manageable after observing what my seniors do. As for me, I would be on the alert and try my best to make the least of mistakes possible, which actually leads to more mistake because being too careful tends to make you stressful and careless. I find it hard to concentrate when I’m working because I still rely on my bosses to boost my CGPA, which I strongly need them if I want to further my studies in a renown university.

I’m confident, if the evaluation doesn’t exist, I would gradually perform better than now. Some would advice to take it easy and relax….etc. But they are people with reasonable amount of CGPA points that would guarantee a spot in a degree program even if they get a C for their internship, how I wish I was that secured.

To make matters worse, I just destroyed my 4 years relationship, it just came at the wrong time (here’s where the whining begins) when things are not going too well, nice. All I could do was to keep making myself busy so I wouldn’t remind myself how lonely and depress I am (damn!).

I thought I could continue working after my diploma but working has changed that thought. I felt overwhelm when I started working, like I had too much to learn. It feels as though I needed to learn more from degree studies rather than to take it with the intention to get a better salary. I really felt the need to gain knowledge, such as communication skills, listening skills and writing skills. I was lacking in all 3 of that, moreover, I can hardly focus now a days.

I just hope things will go well for me, I don’t mind being slightly more perseverance than usual, if that is really necessary. But then again, all I wanted most is to work after my diploma for at least a year before I pursue my degree but somehow the Darren with that confidence died.

*stay tune for more complains and rumors from Darren Chiang - a normal teenager who just reached adulthood with a lot of enthusiasm and lame excuses for countless amount of situations*

BSB Concert

March 4th, 2008 by crabby88

SUNWAY LAGOON (SURF BEACH) – The
long anticipated Backstreet’s Boys world tour has finally arrived in Malaysia.
Many were loyal fans since 1997, prior to that, the last concert of BSB was
cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances but not anymore. Fans ranging from teenager to adult gathered to give their support to the long lasting boy band
that brightened up the music industry for at least a decade.

The
participation was surprisingly amazing compared to MCR (my chemical romance)
and other boy bands that performed in Malaysia. Sunway Lagoon Surf Beach area
has known to fit at least 10,000 people and with just a blink of an eye you can
see three quarter of them in front of the stage.270208_2110

Even though
the boys were out of action for a while, fans still adores them without grudge
and still remember every word from every Backstreet’s Boys music. The crowd sang
so loud, it even surpasses the volume of the boy band themselves.

The crowd was
fairly matured and not rowdy in any manner, everyone was patient and waited to
the last minute before the organizers approve their entry. Only a small amount
of people got overexcited and started yelling at the guards (rela) to speed up
the process.

Hitz.fm cruisers
were spotted in the scene but none of the fans entertain them as they were fed
with music that keeps on playing in their head.

Overall, the
concert is 8 out of 10. It is the best concert so far from 2007 – till now. The
boys did their part and everyone left the surf beach without regrets.

The concert was organized by
Galaxy.

JAy at Ruums

February 3rd, 2008 by crabby88

RUUMS, K.L. – Fans desperately
forcing their way to the front of the stage looking out for the amazing and
talented Jay Chou. Everyone was wondering what surprises awaits them and time
was the only problem because the fans can’t wait to met their idol.

It all happen in the launch of
Jay’s latest film, Kung-Fu Dunk, a 1 night party to celebrate the official
release of the movie with appreciation to both the actors and the producers.

The event starts off with
professional dancers from shuffle to cheerleading. It created an atmosphere where
fans find it hard to stand still and some actually started dancing to the beat.

The main purpose of the event is
to indulge fans with a better understanding of the movie and the people
involved. “Thank you for all your support” said Jay Chou. He ends his speech
with a shy smile.

Many fans were getting the itch
and started putting their hands on Jay when they had the chance but were
gradually stopped by the security in charged.

The event ended after the ice
breaking session by Jay Chou, Baron Chen and Kevin Chu.

The party was sponsored by
Anglier Shandy and hosted by ??? inc.

Kung-Fu dunk will be aired in all
leading cinema at 7th of February 2008.

Vacation

January 4th, 2008 by crabby88

Edited1_1 I spent almost half of my semester break in Hong Kong hoping to get cheaper branded goods but ended buying cookies instead. As a matter of fact, I don’t even have enough funds to buy souvenirs back for my pals. Luckily, we stop by China’s Sheng Cheng on the way to Hong Kong and over there it feels like Hong Kong during 2002. Makes me wonder how honkies can afford buying numerous branded goods for themselves after being categorized as the worlds top 5 most expensive city to live in, maybe they find it worthwhile buying since most of the people there don’t bother owning a vehicle.

A lot of people who haven’t been to Hong Kong get carried away with the Chinese food there, never realize that Malaysia still holds rank 1 when it comes to food, especially Chinese cuisine. The special part of Hong Kong food is the desert, though must say I hardly get the chance to enjoy most of them like how I did the previous time. So for reference sake, make sure you visit Honeymoon Desert House and get a taste of double skin skimmed milk desert (it’s everywhere).

Human being wise, I must admit that Hong Kong do produce beautiful woman and in my opinion it surpasses Malaysia, =). If you’re wondering about the friendliness level, don’t ask me, I wasn’t really in the position to mix with any locals there. Edit2_2

Something is different, different from the last time I went there. Is either my imagination or do I feel that they aren’t as busy as before, like rushing to wherever they seek. Things were rather calm for a change and people talk less, maybe they are under stress, who knows or who cares.

So is Hong Kong worth going again? Yes. Here’s a few reason why.

1.       The cheapest electronic devices around, for example, ipods to hand phones and also computer parts.

2.       Most of the popular brands like epsrit, g2000 and u2 are originated from there, which means to say that you are shopping under the category of local brand.

3.       (in my opinion) the best vegetarian comes from the huge temple in Hong Kong.

4.       Porn DVD’s are legal.

5.       Maybe you can get married to a second wife in Hong Kong, who knows?

6.       It’s only a ferry away from Macao, if you wish to womanize and gamble.

With these 5 reasons, any man would be happy to visit the country again. Did I mention what was illegal but fun as well?

MCR Concert

December 30th, 2007 by crabby88

I’ve been really busy lately, though I never knew I would neglect my blog until today. Needless to say, I was wasting time and doing nonsense ever seen my finals ended. Even if it’s too late to talk about the past, at the very least, I get to satisfy my guilt for the sake of reviving my dead blog.

I’ve been hesitating to buy concert tickets lately because everyone told me it was a waste of money and a waste of time, not to mentioned travelling all the way to Genting just to view a 3 hours live performance, but soon enough I realized that live shows like this might not come twice, at least not in Malaysia. In other words, this could be a chance of a life time.Friendster_mcr

So I managed to save some money for the next concert and I finally bought a pair of yellow zone (second class) tickets for me and girlfriend for MCR (My Chemical Romance) concert. It took quite a bit of effort to get those tickets but somehow I glad I did. To most people, this could be considered a stupid way of wasting your extra money but for my case, I wouldn’t consider this extra money because I kind of earn them myself, not 100% though. Well end of the day, I had a lot of fun watching MCR blast through the night with endless surprises and not to mentioned, they were actually punctual, for everyone’s sake.

I was really surprise because they actually started the show on time, if you know what I mean. Unlike the previous concert, we all waited an hour extra before they actually showed up, for some reason only they know. Secondly, I’m glad they didn’t over praised Malaysia like how Linkin Park did. At the very least, they were pretty honest and only gave credit to the friendliness and food here.

I love their showmanship when it comes to dancing and moving around, as if it was almost natural and not some trained professional like Britney Spears. It was almost like seeing my own brother dancing through during his bathing session. They cover every song from their singles to their next yet-to-be released singles, quite a remarkable band for having such good time management when it comes to timing, most celebrities would neglect some of their songs.

I must say, MCR did what most bands didn’t do. In normal circumstances, there is always the last and final act depending on the crowd’s response, like a surprise last act while the crowd is leaving. I was waiting and waiting and finally it hits me that there wasn’t any surprise last act. It was quite a disappointment but I’m sure that everyone was exhausted and dying for coke.

End of the day, I must conclude that this is the best rock show I’ve ever seen, at least for now. I’m definitely looking forward for the next MCR concert and I’ll make sure this time I would get the best tickets.

HAHAHA, please don’t give up on me, Please!
